This position is primarily for covering weekend evening broadcasts on WILL-TV. The position will also include occasional fill-in shifts for the full-time weather staff on weekdays on WILL Radio and Television. WILL has a strong commitment to providing accurate weather information. Applicants must have some experience in meteorology and weather forecasting. Applicants must demonstrate some knowledge in synoptic/mesoscale meteorology and weather forecasting. Applicants must also audition to demonstrate their ability to present weather information in a professional, unaffected, personable style. In addition, applicants must demonstrate they have an active interest in and knowledge of weather and science-related news. Accurate keyboard skills are required.

WILL staff may consider providing unpaid coaching/tutoring for individuals who demonstrate an aptitude for broadcast meteorology but do not yet possess the skill set required for this position. Although WILL does not have the financial resources to pay for extensive training, all interested individuals are encouraged to apply.

TO APPLY: For full consideration, applicants must send a resume and cover letter outlining interests, availability, and qualifications, no later than Friday, October 24, 2008. Email applications are preferred.
